The Hypocrisy of Our Democracy

I was going to blog about some happier shit but I gotta get this out the way.

I was just on A Black Man's View, reading his most recent post about some drapto he "used to know and like" (whom he finally stopped speaking to).  While reading ABMV's final response to the man, this part stuck out to me:

Hypocrisy Mark, Hypocrisy. It was OK for somebody that looked like the masses to sell the country down the river, but when a man that looks like one of my Uncles comes in and tries to straighten out the mess that was started way before we even knew his name, he is a socialist, a closet Muslim, the anti-Christ and he gets portrayed as a Monkey or a witch doctor. None of you tea-baggers said anything about anything the whole 8 years of hell we endured under Jr. But as soon as a non-majority is elected, now ya'll want to take your country back?

 Amen, bruh.

George W. Bush was not a good president.  Gi' you dat one mo' gin: George W. Bush was NOT a good president.  He and his administration sucked.  From America's best historic scholars and analysts - well, what's left of them anyway - to the average kid who lived through Bush, there's an almost unanimous consensus that his was most assuredly not the best administration.  And yet not once in eight years - eight whole years, people - did teabaggers come out in force and riot and spit on his party members or kick them or threaten them with death.  No, no...they saved that royal treatment for the first president of color to come along, disagreeing with his every policy - whether they understood it or not - and going after his wife and daughters for no goddamn reason whatsoever.

And this is where white people will invoke the "right to an opinion" defense, and along with that opinion will come the "but I'm not a racist" disclaimer.

*cue fountain of vomit*
