Here We Go. Again.

From Gawker:
The confrontation that resulted in the shooting death of 17-year-old Jordan Russell Davis started over loud music, according to investigators in Brevard County, Florida.

The incident took place Friday outside a convenience store in Jacksonville, where Davis and four of his friends were hanging out inside a parked SVU.

Lt. Rob Schoonover of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Department said 45-year-old Michael David Dunn and his girlfriend, both in town for Dunn's son's wedding, pulled up and asked the teens to turn down the music in their car.

Investigators reported that words were exchanged between Davis and Dunn, but did not elaborate.

The confrontation ended after Dunn, a gun collector, pulled out a weapon and fired at least eight shots at the SUV, striking Davis twice.

None of the vehicle's other occupants were injured.

Dunn's girlfriend, who was in the store buying wine at the time, returned to the car having heard a "popping" sound, and the two bolted from the scene. The unnamed woman told investigators Dunn admitted he "fired at these kids," but claims they were not aware someone had died until hearing it on the news.

Dunn, a Satellite Beach resident, was arrested Saturday at his home on charges of murder and attempted murder. He was booked into Brevard County jail, where he is being held without bail.

He is expected to be returned to Jacksonville shortly after pleading not guilty through his attorney Robin Lemonidis.

"It will be very clear that Mr. Dunn acted very responsibly and as any responsible firearms owner would have acted under these circumstances," Lemonidis told reporters, but would not elaborate.
Gee...where have I heard a story like this before? And before that?

Because he knows that's some straight up bullshit and he's gonna have to search the recesses of his ass to pull something out that's worthy of a defense. Bitch, please. Deez nuts.

This fucking guy told those kids to turn down their music. Um, who the hell is he to tell anybody what to do? Oh, an entitled white man (prolly pissed that Obama won and looking to cap a brotha). And when they didn't obey, he felt threatened enough to reach in his car and fire nine shots...knowing he could use Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law a la George Zimmerman? At this point, folks need to be straight up armed and shoot back. Those boys would have been well in their rights to blow that bastard right to Mars.

Florida should break off from the mainland and float away somewhere because I'm sick of their bullshit.

      Tell me about it.

    2. I am so tired of both white civilians AND cops of all races getting to act like black children are so damn scary that you can claim deadly force was warranted.
I remember years ago being in a store as barely more than a toddler and my mom totally checked some lady at the counter who was trying to tell me not to touch the glass.
My mom told her under no uncertain terms that she was not going to be bossing me around as she said nothing to the white kids who were doing the same damn thing.
They always think they have a right to question us, boss us, order us about, and still think saying no or telling them to mind their damn business is so scary they can start pulling weapons.
And way too many people are racist enough to think that unruly black teenagers are so dangerous while the antics of unruly white teenagers (which trust me, can get crazy thanks to the steady infusion of alcohol) never cause anyone to draw weapons.

  2. Here we go again indeed...and again, and again, and again. Expect more incidents like this in the near future, and more jackoffs to defend them.

I know you know that if it was a bunch of white teens in that SUV, Dunn wouldn't think much of it especially if they played loud music as well. But black kids blasting music is something thugs, which include all black kids in their minds, do.

  3. Here we go once again. Racists showing their whole ass while clowns rush to their aid. I honestly don't get surprised anymore. We POC have to be ever alert despite the post-racial society bullshit we are being fed.

  4. There are some real gems coming out of this story already:

“He got threatened and had to do what he had to do, and it’s sad, so sad,” the shooter’s daughter Rebecca Dunn said in an interview with ABC 12. “A terrible tragedy on both sides. It really is. I don’t know. What are you going to do in that situation? You don’t know what you are going to do. He just reacted.”

“He didn’t think he had harmed anybody and he just thought he had scared them off and he wanted to report it, but he didn’t want to go in a sense, throw himself to the wolves in a strange city without representation,” said Dunn’s attorney Robin Lemonidis.

It's pretty sad that I'm impressed that Dunn was actually arrested at all.

He fired eight shots into an occupied vehicle, and thought he'd only 'scared' them off? Come the f*ck on!

"He got threatened and had to do what he had to do"

  5. Guns and Whiteness are a recipe for Black death.

Mad props to Prosecutor Gene Nichols, though:

Mr. Dunn is going to have to answer the question, ‘Why did you not call the sheriff’s office? If you are reasonably protecting yourself, why did you leave the scene, get in the car, and the next day, flee the jurisdiction of Duval County?’ … There’s no indication that Jordan or anyone else in that car had a gun, there’s no indication that they were any threat to Mr. Dunn.

Dunn's better stay in jail. He better to rot for a very long time.

I read that spiel, or tried to, to be very honest. I imagine the argument against anti-lynching legislation in the American South went much the same way.

  7. I am so freaking tired of this ish. So next time I feel threatened by a random Becky or Billy Joe; I can pull out my butterfly knife and stick it to him or her Or karate chop /punch/kick/pull out some eyes if they look or speak to me sideways cuz that definitely can happen. I know that no one would be trying to defend this animal if it was a black man that ran up on some white male teenagers listening to music too loud.

And I apologize to all that this is coming from Florida yet again. Dang makes me want to leave Fla even more, SMH it's a shame that my home state can't stay out of the media for nothing.

  8. The story makes NO SENSE. Why would he demand the music be turned down IN A CONVENIENCE STORE PARKING LOT? Why would only one guy get hit if EIGHT shots were fired? Something is fishy alright.
